IT Services Upgrades and Updates November 20 – 23
IT Services will be conducting updates from
3:00pm on Friday, November 20,
until 8:00am on Monday, November 23.
MyGeorgiaSouthern, Folio, and Google Apps
will not be affected during this downtime.
The Georgia Southern VPN will be available throughout the weekend.
Affected Services
Liberty Campus
Wireless Network: University networking will perform maintenance on the wireless network on the Liberty campus. The maintenance may be finished before the scheduled end time.
Maintenance Period: 3:00pm on Friday, November 20, until 5:00pm on Friday, November 20.
Armstrong Campus
Armstrong Administrative Network: University Networking will be updating central networking equipment on the Armstrong Administrative network. During the update, the following will be unavailable: Internet, phones, Audio/Visual equipment, and building controllers.
Maintenance Period: 7:00am on Sunday, November 22, until 8:30am on Sunday, November 22.
Statesboro Campus
Administrative Internet connection: Short outage of the Statesboro Campus Administrative Internet connection for device maintenance.
Maintenance Period: 5:30am on Saturday, November 21, until 6:30am on Saturday, November 21.
Wireless Network in Eagle Village Buildings 3 and 4: University Networking will perform maintenance on the wireless network in Eagle Village Buildings 3 and 4.
Maintenance Period: 6:00am on Saturday, November 21, until 7:00am on Saturday, November 21.
All Campuses
University Voice Mail: University Telecommunications will be moving the University Voice Mail system to a new server. During the maintenance period, Voice Mail will be unavailable.
Maintenance Period: 9:00pm on Friday, November 20, until 11:00pm on Friday, November 20.
Banner and WINGS: The University System of Georgia IT Services will be performing maintenance on Banner and WINGS. During the maintenance period, Banner and Wings will be unavailable.
Maintenance Period: 10:00pm on Friday, November 20, until 7:00am on Saturday, November 21.
Eaglexpress and the Quadpoint Point of Sale: University Applications will be performing maintenance on Eaglexpress and the Quadpoint Point of Sale systems. During the maintenance period, Eaglexpress and the Quadpoint Point of Sale will be unavailable.
Maintenance Period: 6:00am on Sunday, November 22, until 7:00am on Sunday, November 22.
Business Objects: University Applications will be performing maintenance on Business Objects. During the maintenance period, Business Objects will be unavailable.
Maintenance Period: 8:00am on Sunday, November 22, until 5:00pm on Sunday, November 22.
Blackboard Analytics: University Applications will be performing maintenance on Blackboard Analytics. During the maintenance period, Blackboard Analytics will be unavailable.
Maintenance Period: 2:00pm on Sunday, November 22, until 3:00pm on Sunday, November 22.
Pyramid Business Intelligence: University Applications will be performing maintenance on Pyramid Business Intelligence. During the maintenance period, this service will be unavailable.
Maintenance Period: 3:00pm on Sunday, November 22, until 4:00pm on Sunday, November 22.
ApplicationXtender: University Applications will be performing maintenance on ApplicationXtender. During the maintenance period, this service will be unavailable.
Maintenance Period: 3:00pm on Sunday, November 22, until 4:00pm on Sunday, November 22.
Georgia Southern Telephone System: University Telecommunications will be moving (porting) all Georgia Southern telephone numbers from our current carrier to a cloud-based carrier.
There will be intermittent times when phones will be inoperative while that number is being moved. After the move, there will be no changes in the way that University personnel dial or receive calls.
Maintenance Period: 9:00am on Monday, November 23, until 11:00am on Monday, November 23.
