Zoom Web Collaboration Tool
ITS is excited to announce that Georgia Southern will transition from WebEx to Zoom as the University’s official web collaboration tool. To ensure a smooth transition between these resources, our team will approach this conversion in a phased approach.
MyGS Portal Access
Zoom will be available to all currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff beginning Wednesday, May 13th, via the MyGS portal and as a utility in Google calendar. WebEx will also continue to be accessible through these resources through Friday, June 26th.
This period of overlap will allow faculty and staff access to both resources in order to ensure that they feel comfortable transitioning to Zoom, that they have an opportunity to reschedule already-scheduled meetings, and that they are able to download and archive any recordings that they may have had in WebEx. The recording function will be available through Friday, May 22nd.
Folio Online Rooms
Beginning at 3pm on Friday, May 8th, WebEx will no longer be available via Folio Online Rooms. This Folio integration will be unavailable through Wednesday, May 13th, when Zoom Online Rooms becomes available. For faculty members who recorded WebEx sessions via Folio Online Rooms, our team has archived these recordings and will make them available to faculty members. To access your recordings, please contact our MyTech Support representatives.
