Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1998 requires that web-based information and data be equally accessible to individuals with and without disabilities. The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia has determined that institutions under the Board of Regents fall within the scope of Section 508. Accessibility is a high priority issue for the Board of Regents (BoR), the University System of Georgia (USG) and Georgia Southern University. By endorsing Web accessibility guidelines established by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), Georgia Southern strives to provide full access to institutional information, programs and activities offered through the Web while meeting federal regulations and USG policy.
