Technology Governance

In addition to the President and the President’s Cabinet, the Chief Information Officer is counseled on technology systems choices, policies and plans by the following committees and councils:

  • Instructional Technology Advisory Council (ITAC)
  • Technology for Administrative Services Committee (TASC)
  • Web Advisory Committee (WAC)
  • Research Computing Advisory Council (RCAC)
  • Student Technology Advisory Committee (STAC)
  • Council of IT Directors  (VPIT Council)
  • IT Security & Controls Council (ITSCC)

The CIO also regularly participates in Faculty Senate meetings, the Institutional Effectiveness Committee, and the Council of Deans meetings and engages colleges and administrative functions through established institutional channels. The CIO also participates in the University System of Georgia Chief Information Officers Council which is an IT coordinating body for the Vice Chancellor for Information Technology.  These committees and working groups provides an advisory and governance framework that guides the actions of the CIO through transparent and open dialogue.
