Using Respondus LockDown Browser in Folio?

If you are using Respondus LockDown Browser in your Folio courses, you must visit the LockDown Browser Dashboard at least once every semester.


To find the LockDown Browser dashboard:

  • Login to Folio and click on your course.
  • Select Quizzes under the Assessments tab in the top navigation bar.
  • From the Manage Quizzes page, click on the LockDown Browser tab.

If it is the first time that you have accessed the LockDown Browser Dashboard, you should see a success message. Make sure to visit the LockDown Browser Dashboard at least once before any upcoming quizzes to avoid any issues for students.

PCWindows: 11 and 10 [Check Windows Version]
* Windows 10/11 “S mode” is not a compatible operating system, nor can LockDown Browser be obtained via the Windows App Store. At present, support for Windows 10/11 “S Mode” isn’t on the roadmap for LockDown Browser.
* Windows 10/11 “SE” is currently not a compatible operating system for LockDown Browser.


2 GB RAM [Check your RAM]
* A minimum 4 GB of available RAM is necessary when using LockDown Browser to take an exam that also uses a webcam.

Your instructor must enable iPads to be used on each exam.
* If you are using an iPad, please make sure your instructor is aware of this.
