Departments

The Division of Information Technology Services is made up of 9 departments, all of which are focused on the service and support of technology resources for students, faculty and staff.


Computational Research Technology Support

Computational Research Technology Support (CRTS) is a specialized are within ITS focused on building and supporting a comprehensive program to advance computational research at Georgia Southern University. CRTS assists researchers with the transition from desktop capabilities to more robust HPC systems in addition to offering and supporting these computing resources.

Enterprise Application Services

Enterprise Application Services (EAS) develops partnerships with stakeholders that lead to innovative, efficient, reliable and secure information systems and solutions that promote student success and support prospective students parents, alumni, community, faculty and staff.

Enterprise Infrastructure Services

Enterprise Infrastructure Services is responsible for providing innovation and operational excellence of technical infrastructures and applications across a multi-campus enterprise. Areas of service include telecommunications, network services, endpoint management, cloud services, and systems administration/data center management.

Executive Technology & Athletics Support

Executive Services and Athletics IT is responsible for recommending, implementing, and maintaining technology based systems used by all executive offices as well as all of IT Services, Athletics, Marketing & Communications, University Advancement and the Multimedia Development Center.

IT Business Services

IT Business Services continually seeks methods to provide the most efficient and effective financial resources and business process management solutions for the Division of ITS. The department provides budget management for the division’s operational and Student Technology Fee budgets as well as guidance regarding technology purchasing of hardware and software for the University community. In addition, the department provides administrative support for staff in the division.

IT Support Automation

IT Support Automation provides numerous technology services for the University that leverages different forms of automation to streamline support. 
The IT Support Automation team provides services such as desktop support, service desk call center, classroom AV solutions, device management, identity management, point of sale systems, cloud applications and others important University services.

IT Communications & Operations Support

IT Communications & Operations Support (ITCOS) assists the CIO and all departments within ITS by promoting its wide range of services to the Georgia Southern University community. ITCOS also assists ITS staff with communicating complex technical concepts with non-technical audiences in clear, relevant ways. ITCOS oversees all web content management and event planning /management for the division.

Information Security

The Information Security (InfoSec) department is responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive information security strategy to optimize the security posture of the University. The department also focuses on resources for education and awareness campaigns that reduce our overall institutional risk. InfoSec is also responsible for identity access management and includes Accounts in its reporting structure.

Learning Technology Support

Learning Technology Support (LTS) provides and supports learning technological resources for the University. LTS is focused on identifying, delivering, and improving access to learning technologies that foster academic excellence, exceptional learning experiences, and student success.
