Migration

Transitioning Your Technology Resources

In ITS, we’re proud to help provide the technology resources and support that help you achieve success in your roles as students, faculty and staff members. We recognize that technology is an essential tool that impacts the way you learn, communicate, collaborate, innovate and educate.  As Armstrong State University and Georgia Southern University become one institution, we’re committed to helping you transition those technology resources in a way that mitigates disruption and ensures ease of conversion.

Migration Defined

In the early stages of consolidation planning, the CIC approved recommendations regarding the technology resources for our new university. During the Spring 2018 semester, we will begin implementing the processes that will make these approved recommendations a reality for our combined institution, including the migration of your email and other technology resources. During this process, ITS will transfer much of the information and files that you use in your current environment to the new environment so that you will be able to access them there. Keep reading to learn more about what information will be migrated, when these migrations will take place and how you can prepare for this transition.
