IT Services Upgrades and Updates December 17 – 20

IT Services will be conducting updates from
5:00pm on Friday, December 17, 2021
until 8:00am on Monday, December 20, 2021.

MyGeorgiaSouthern, Folio, and Google Apps
will not be affected during this downtime.

 

Affected Services

Statesboro Campus

Networking Equipment Upgrade: University Networking will be installing new distribution equipment to improve network security and performance for every building on the Statesboro Campus. During the maintenance window, each building on the Statesboro campus will experience an interruption of connectivity while its connection is upgraded.

IT Services has a specific order in which buildings will be upgraded. The maximum duration for a building outage is expected to be 35 to 40 minutes. Most buildings will be disconnected for about 15 minutes. The exact timing of the initiation of the upgrade for a building will vary according to the pace of upgrade progress. If you are planning to work on campus during this maintenance period, please understand that there will be a short outage during the day as your building link is upgraded.
 
     Maintenance Period:
     1:00pm on Monday, December 20, until 10:00pm on Monday, December 20
     1:00pm on Tuesday, December 21, until 10:00pm on Tuesday, December 21.

All Campuses

Banner and WINGS: University System of Georgia IT Services will be performing maintenance on Georgia Southern’s Banner and WINGS instance. During the maintenance period, Banner, WINGS, and dependent services will be unavailable.
       Maintenance Period: 5:30pm on Friday, December 17, until 7:00am on Saturday, December 18.

 

OneUSG Connect: University System of Georgia IT Services will be performing maintenance on OneUSG Connect (time entry, leave requests, payroll). During the maintenance period, OneUSG Connect will be unavailable.
       Maintenance Period: 5:30pm on Friday, December 17, until 7:00am on Saturday, December 18.

 

EagleXpress and Quadpoint Point of Sale: Georgia Southern IT Services Systems will be performing maintenance on EagleXpress and the Quadpoint Point of Sale systems. During the maintenance period, EagleXpress and the Quadpoint Point of Sale will be unavailable.
       Maintenance Period: 6:00am on Sunday, December 19, until 8:00am on Sunday, December 19.

 

DegreeWorks: Georgia Southern IT Services Systems will be performing maintenance on DegreeWorks. During the maintenance period, this service will be unavailable.
       Maintenance Period: 6:00am on Sunday, December 19, until 11:00pm on Sunday, December 19.

 

Business Objects, Pyramid Business Intelligence, AppXtender: Georgia Southern IT Services Systems will be performing maintenance on Business Objects, Pyramid Business Intelligence, and AppXtender. During the maintenance period, these services will be unavailable.
       Maintenance Period: 9:00am on Sunday, December 19 until 5:00pm on Sunday, December 19.
