Web Conferencing Solution

WebEx, a web conferencing solution by Cisco, is Georgia Southern’s multi-functional desktop Video/Audio Conference call application. It allows faculty and staff to meet with anyone, anywhere, in real time from office or home. Students are able to join virtual class meetings inside the Folio environment. With crisp, clear video and audio as well as white boarding and screen sharing capabilities, WebEx brings a new level of engagement to virtual meetings.

Web Conferencing for Students

WebEx provides a convenient method for students and faculty to collaborate outside of the traditional classroom or office setting. With crisp, clear video and audio as well as white boarding and screen sharing capabilities, this web conferencing tool brings a new level of engagement to lectures, meetings, online office hours, and interacting with guest speakers. Students can utilize WebEx either through the Folio Online Rooms utility or by joining a meeting hosted by a faculty or staff member.

Folio Online Rooms

Beginning in the Fall 2017 semester, WebEx became the online collaboration tool inside Folio, the University’s Learning Management System:

Joining a Meeting

Students at Georgia Southern are able to participate in WebEx meetings hosted by faculty and staff outside of the Folio environment as attendees. If you’re invited to participate in a WebEx meeting session, you will typically receive the invitation via email or calendar invite. Web Conferencing for Faculty

WebEx, a web conferencing solution by Cisco, is available for faculty use via Folio Online Rooms or as a standalone web conferencing application. This collaboration tool gives faculty a convenient way to meet “live” with students and colleagues, conduct online office hours, and even feature guest speakers. With crisp, clear video and audio as well as white boarding and screen sharing capabilities, WebEx brings a new level of engagement to both classes and meetings.

The WebEx web conferencing solution takes collaboration to new heights with its easy-to-use and convenient web, video, and audio meeting solution capabilities. As long as you have Internet access on your computer or have the WebEx mobile app installed for your iPhone, iPad, or Android devices, you can connect with colleagues from any location. WebEx for Windows and Mac feature HD video and online chat, as well as all of the tools you need to share presentations and desktop applications, write on online whiteboards, and make annotations.
