The Techxpo Computer Shootout is a showcase for students and faculty/staff to who enjoy building custom computers and pushing their creations to the limit. Anyone who wants to show off the beast of a machine they’ve built at home is welcome to participate. Prizes will be awarded to winners in four different categories: CPU Face-off, GPU Showdown, Best Overall Performance, and Best in Show as voted on by the crowd.
Shoot-out Event Schedule
Set up Stations, Last Chance Registration, Voting opens for Best in Show
Participants will be required to run a series of synthetic CPU tests from the IntelBurn Test benchmark software. Participants can run the tests as many times as they like within the 2 hour window to achieve the highest score possible. The machine with the highest score from these tests will be awarded Most powerful CPU. An Honorable mention will also be given out for the Fastest CPU at this time as well.
Participants will be required to run Unigine’s Heaven benchmark software. They can run the test as many times as they like within the 2 hour window to achieve the highest score possible. The machine with the highest score from this test will be awarded Most Powerful GPU.
Best Performance and Best in Show Announced
The best overall performance score will be comprised of the combined CPU face off score (40% weighted) and GPU showdown score (60% weighted) and the machine with the best score overall will be awarded Best Performance. Best in Show will be awarded to the machine with the most votes as voted on by the crowd. Voters can only vote once and for one machine.
