IT Services Departments

Georgia Southern Information Technology Services provides technology consultation, computing operations, networking, troubleshooting, and repair services for the entire University.

The division is organized into two main groups: divisional support and enterprise support. Divisional support departments are focused on supporting the technological needs of specific divisions of the University. Enterprise support departments are focused on providing technology infrastructure and systems support services for the whole University.

Advancement Technology Services

Advancement Technology Services gathers, organizes, manages and disseminates information to guide the sound and effective advancement and overall business decisions of the Georgia Southern University Foundation, Inc. and University Advancement.

Business and Finance Technology Services

Business and Finance Information Technology Services strives to provide exceptional technology support services and solutions to all units under the Business and Finance division of the University. We provide comprehensive technology support and services which includes: Systems and Application Support, Web Services, Project Management, Systems Development and Consultation. As a department reporting to the Division of Information Technology Services we seek to apply technology to create business efficiencies, improve business processes and promote fiscal sustainability. By providing secure and convenient business services we support the University’s mission to enhance the students learning experience and contribute to their academic success.

Center for Academic Technology and Support

Under the auspices of the Vice President for Information Technology, the Center for Academic Technology Support provides oversight, consultation, implementation, resources and technical support for the Division of Academic Affairs at Georgia Southern University. CATS strives to identify, promote and support instructional technologies that foster academic excellence through the enhancement of teaching and learning, improve access and engagement and building information literacy.

Information Security Services

The Office of Information Security provides services that help minimize risks and protect the University’s assets from threats and loss, utilize appropriate technologies to securely, efficiently and effectively deliver the highest level of service to the University and conduct ongoing technology planning process​​​ that foster continuous improvement to meet the university’s mission of academic distinction in teaching, scholarship, research and service.

Networking and Telecommunications

Networking and Telecommunications is committed to providing and maintaining a reliable, efficient, secure and robust network that supports enterprise voice, video and data technologies to all academic, student support, and administrative units and programs on campus and units located off campus.
